MALAGA — Costa killer Tony King was handed down a sentence of seven years for the attempted rape of a woman five years ago.
A court in Malaga passed the prison sentence on the convicted British murderer, who must also pay EUR 11,500 in compensation to the victim.
The attack took place in the Costa del Sol town of Benalmádena in 2001.
At a trial in May, King was convicted of the attempted rape. He denied the charge.
His victim came forward after seeing his photograph in the media when he was detained in connection with the murders of two Spanish teenagers.
King has already been condemned to 36 years in jail for the murder of Spanish teenager of Sonia Carabantes, 17, who was beaten and strangled in the town of Coin, near Malaga.
King is to stand trial for the murder of Rocío Wanninkhof, 19, whose body was found in Mijas also near Malaga in 1999.
