MADRID - A 20-year-old British man died during an accident on walking holiday in Spain.

The BBC reported that the man, from Shrewsbury, fell into a river after apparently losing his footing on a mountain path while walking with friends in the southern Pyrenees.

Two specialist mountain rescue teams were scrambled, together with a helicopter, but the man was dead by the time they reached him.

Local police have begun an investigation into the death of the man, who has not yet been named.
