BORDEAUX — A plane en route from Malaga to Holland was forced to make an emergency landing at Bordeaux airport in France after the airline received a bomb threat.

The Transavia airline received an anonymous call in English saying that there was a bomb aboard the plane, which was carrying 63 people, an airline official said.

After touching down in Bordeaux at around 12.30 pm, the aircraft and passengers were searched, but no suspicious items were found.

The plane was due to leave for its original destination in Rotterdam later on  Tuesday.

A Tansavia spokeswoman said: "Twenty minutes into the flight we received a call at our Spanish office warning of a bomb on board."
