VALENCIA-Three women were appearing in court in connection with the death of a baby who was thrown from a second-floor apartment to his death.
The 30-year-old mother, an aunt and the grandmother of the child appeared before the court in Burjassot, near Valencia in north-east Spain, where the tragedy took place.
The baby was found wrapped in a sheet in the road below the apartment by a couple in the early hours of on Sunday morning.
The couple called the emergency services but the child, who has not been named, died in hospital.
The baby had been born shortly before the tragedy.
Police have not disclosed what involvement the three arrested women are alleged to have had in the death of the child.
A neighbour in the area said the mother of the child lived with her parents.
It is thought she has some form of mental deficiency and has not been involved in any other incidents.
