Madrid - Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said on Tuesday afternoon that his club will not make any signings during the January transfer window.

Cerezo told the digital version of Marca that "neither the coach (Javier Aguirre) nor the technical secretary (Jesus Garcia Pitarch) is planning to bring in any player in January."

He added that "we hope this season has a happy ending, like in the films...We are playing well, scoring goals and winning."

Atleti are fourth in La Liga after Sunday's near-epic 4-3 defeat of Valladolid.

Cerezo admitted to being "a little worried" about Thursday's UEFA Cup clash at home to Aberdeen, and about the prospect of more than 1,000 Scottish fans turning up without tickets. dpa ds sc
