MADRID-The Spanish trade deficit widened 36.8 percent to EUR 5.09 billion in February from a year earlier.

The Ministry of Industry and Tourism said exports increased 5.3 percent to EUR 12.14 bn, while imports climbed 13 percent to EUR 17.23 bn.

Imports from China jumped 46.3 percent.

In the two months to February, the Spanish trade deficit widened 43.4 percent to EUR 10.37 bn euros, with exports up 3.7 percent and imports increasing 13.4 percent.
