13 August 2004, MADRID - The Catalonia regional police, Los Mossos, said on Friday that they had arrested a further three tourists following a mass street battle involving young tourists in the Costa Brava resort of Lloret de Mar.

MADRID - The Catalonia regional police, Los Mossos, said on Friday that they had arrested a further three tourists following a mass street battle involving young tourists in the Costa Brava resort of Lloret de Mar.

In all they had now detained 15 people since the brawls took place early on Wednesday morning.

The latest three taken into custody were all Austrian nationals, who are accused of being among the 200 youngsters who took part in the street confrontation with police in the resort's Riera bars district.

Various buildings and street fittings were damaged as the mob swarmed through the packed streets.

Of those arrested so far, two are girls from Lloret de Mar, seven are youngsters from Italy, and the three others are from France, Belgium and Austria.

Two of those charged have been left in the custody of family members as they were both aged under 16.
