MADRID -- Architecture Week will return to Madrid in October, allowing the public to visit symbolic buildings in the capital accompanied by professional architects.

From 6 to 12 October, around 50 buildings will be open to visitors, including the skyscrapers in the Cuatro Torres Business Area, the Valle Inclán theatre, and the extension to the Reina Sofía museum, designed by Jean Nouvel.

Before the event begins, children in Madrid's Plaza Vázquez de Mella were invited Thursday to paint their own mini-houses.
