14 July 2004, MADRID- Spanish airline Air Europa is to offer direct flights to Eastern Europe before the end of the year, the financial newspaper La Gaceta de los Negocios said Wednesday.

MADRID- Spanish airline Air Europa is to offer direct flights to Eastern Europe before the end of the year, the financial newspaper La Gaceta de los Negocios said Wednesday.

The daily quoted the airline's deputy managing director Gerardo Arino as saying Air Europa would offer destinations in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Arino added that Air Europa, owned by Globalia, would join the SkyTeam alliance in November.

Another low-budget carrier, Whizz Airlines, has recently started flights to Budapest and Poland from Girona.
