Madrid - Women marched through the streets of Valladolid on Sunday, joining thousands of others across Spain and around the world to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The Spanish marchers honored the memory of the 69 women killed so far this year at the hands of their male partners and demanded more effective measures to stop gender violence.

Actress Pilar Bardem described as "intolerable" those governments which do not guarantee protection to victims.
