Alba Lactancia Materna

Alba Lactancia Materna is a non-profit organisation that seeks to provide information and support to new mothers engaging in breastfeeding. Pregnant women, mothers, fathers, are all invited to come share their experiences. Attendance and services are free.

The American Society of Barcelona (ASB) is a non-political and non-profit organisation serving the English speaking community of Barcelona. Barcelona NewComers Club

The club is for newcomers, expats and residents of Barcelona who enjoy meeting new people and sharing experiences. Activities include social and professional networking, day and evening activities, family outings, nights out on the town, excursions, seminars and workshops related to Barcelona history and culture.

Barcelona Women’s Network
If you are an active person, this is the club for you. The club is made up of an international group of women who live in and around Barcelona. They meet for coffee morning, evening drink, lunch, dinner, go on a cultural trip and catch a movie on a monthly basis. The last Friday of each month is also a chance for you to practice your Spanish. It is a great opportunity for moms to meet and also for children to have fun in sing-along time and other activities. Please note you need to be a member with BWN before you can attend it on a regular basis. First two visits are trial sessions.

The Business Lunch in Barcelona

The Business lunch is a social networking group for English speaking business professionals in Barcelona. Once a month the group organises a special luncheon where members can meet and greet and share ideas. You don’t need to be a member to join, but signing up entitles you to the newsletter which provides information on upcoming lunches.

Democrats abroad is the official chapter of the United States Democratic party for Americans living abroad. During the year they organise events for homesick Americans. In 2008 they catered an election party and most recently, hosted a July 4th celebration. International Women’s Club of Barcelona

Formed nearly 60 years ago, the club is made up of international people who speak a common language – English. Members of the club have free access to the library at the clubhouse. If you are new and want to check out the former American Women’s club, drop by on Wednesday mornings.

Kids in Barcelona
Kids in Barcelona is an information, resource and support site helping residents and visiting families to enjoy the city with kids! The founder of the site started it after she realised she was missing out on family activities at the museums and art centres, children's shows and  workshops that were being organised regularly around town as she did not have a central place to find them.

Children from Poblenou can gather every Friday evenings from 17:30 till 20:00 at one another’s houses or in parks to make friends and play. Parents will also get a chance to socialise with other adults in the neighbourhood. Special events include Easter and Halloween.

The Sitges Playgroup caters to children up to four years old. Each playtime session includes free time, art, snack time and music. Toys at the facility urge development of hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. Languages spoken include Catalán, Spanish, English, French and Dutch. Cost of membership is EUR 26 per month and you have to pay a one-time matriculation fee of EUR 20.

Barcelona Tennis is a non profit organisation hoping to bring together all tennis lovers to play tournament style. It’s free to join for non-competitive matches and EUR 9 to sign up for the competitive matches. Matches are played at several courts over Barcelona.
