Vanishing pet dog causes international row 06/02/2007 00:00

6 February 2007

MADRID — A British couple have offered EUR 10,000 reward for the return of their missing dog who disappeared at Madrid airport.

Marilyn Duce and her boyfriend Harry discovered their Jack Russell Snowy was missing when they got to Barajas airport at the start of a two-week holiday.

They were reportedly told by airport authorities the dog had been lost, according to El Pais newspaper on Tuesday.

Duce said: "They brought the box in which Snowy was kept but when we got here, it was empty."

She attacked Air Comet, the airline with which she flew, for "lying" about their efforts to find the pet.

"They said they have put down water and food but have seen nothing," she said.

The couple have decided once the dog is found they will return to Britain.

The airline and airport said they were making every effort to find the dog.
