BARCELONA — A gynaecologist has been arrested for allegedly abusing patients.
The 55-year-old man, who was only named as Sami Y.A, was arrested in the Nou Barris area of Barcelona.
His arrest follows complaints by one of his patients last month about his alleged conduct.
She claimed she had been sexually abused.
Police are now trying to discover if there were other victims.
Sami Y.A. has worked for the past three years in the Rio de Janeiro health centre in Barcelona.
The Catalan health service said an internal investigation would be opened.
The gynaecologist will be suspended on full pay while the investigation was underway.
