A walk in the park could save your heart 04/09/2006 00:00

4 September 2006

BARCELONA — A thirty-minute daily stroll in the park is enough to save a person from having a heart attack, it was reported on Monday.

Experts attending the World Congress of Cardiologists Conference in Barcelona claimed a short walk could cut the number of heart attacks by up to 20 percent, the Spanish daily El Pais reported.

The findings come from a study which was presented to the conference.

Barcelona is playing host to the conference attended by up to 30,000 specialists from around the world.

Meanwhile, for those who are already suffering from some form of heart disease, experts believe that by 2010, a new three-in-one pill could prevent heart attacks and cut current treatment costs by 80 percent.
