BARCELONA - Some 340 passengers lost their flights on Sunday with Clickair after the airline's computer system had failed to take into account Daylight Saving Time, when clocks are moved forward an hour.
Clickair admitted that the error was due to a computer glitch, which failed to take into account Daylight Saving Time.
The problem forced airline officials to locate and alert as many affected passengers as possible by phone, email and SMS message. Despite such efforts, 340 passengers were not able to board their flights yesterday.
Clickair said that of the passengers who missed their flights on Sunday, 208 were able to board a later flight with Clickair, while 42 had to take another airline to reach their destinations. Eighty passengers had to wait for another flight the following day.
