During six days, from June 22nd to 27th in Gran Canaria, Campus de Excelencia 2008 will convene alumni and experts, with 16 Nobel Prize winners and prestigious personalities from all around the world to share experiences and find out common solutions to global problems brouht up to human race by society and development. Selected students will expose their thesis and projects to Nobel laureates and outstanding people as: Luis Alberto Lacalle, ex -president of Uruguay; Eric Maskin, Nobel Prize in Economy 2007; Julio Frenk, responsible of Global Health Program of Bill Melinda Gates Foundation; Federico Mayor, president of “Fundacion Cultura de Paz” and international public servant Michel Rocard, Ex Prime Minister of France Amadou Toumani Touré, President Republic of Mali, and Fradique de Menezes, President of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tomé and  Príncipe, among others.

Besides the conferences program and series, Campus de Excelencia 2008 incorporates two new structures which intend to enrich human kind and spreading relevant aspects in education. International celebrities will join these activities. Campus Ópera and Campus Clima are two bets on future, considered by Campus de Excelencia 2008,  two opened doors to intercultural understanding and excellence search, not only in academic fields. 
 
Campus de Excelencia 2008, promoted by  University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is supported by Canary Islands Government, Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Ayuntamiento de San Bartolome de Tirajana, with the cooperation of “Fundacion Universitaria de Las Palmas” and sponsored by several public and private entities. Annually, this meeting brings together brilliant youth’s innovative and developable projects with the best international exponents of scientific, economic, business, politics and cultural knowledge.
