HAMBURG - Seven out of 10 German men asked in a survey said they preferred women who were sexually open-minded - and a good many also wanted a partner who cooked just like their mother.

The survey of some 1,000 men for the women's magazine Journal fuer die Frau showed that more than half of those asked also expected their partners to spend wisely and contribute to living costs.

The survey by the Ipsos Institute was designed to answer the question, "What do men expect from an ideal partner?".

It showed that 51 percent liked a woman who did not immediately become cross about things, and 48 percent would rather not be asked the question, "What are you thinking?"
One in three men did not want to feel they were expected to provide frequent gifts or demonstrations of love to their partners.

And one in four was looking for a woman who cooked just like mother.
