US confirms four cases of E.coli from German outbreak
The United States on Wednesday confirmed it has seen four cases of illness due to the E.coli outbreak linked to infected vegetable sprouts in Germany, officials said.
"In the United States, four confirmed cases and one suspect case of (Shiga toxin-producing E. Coli) STEC O104:H4 infections have been identified. No deaths have been reported," said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The mysterious bacteria has killed 38 people -- all in Germany except for one woman who died in Sweden after visiting Germany -- and sickened 3,300 people in 116 countries.
