BERLIN - Two German building workers who spouted racist abuse as they kicked a man from Guinea in a Berlin railway station have been indicted for attempted murder, prosecutors said Friday.

Prosecutors said the victim, who suffered serious injuries to his head from their steel-capped boots, had been attacked purely because of his black skin. A 21-year-old man admitted to the attack in April, but the other accused, 23, was denying involvement.

The attackers, who were drunk, encouraged one another with racist remarks to "kick him to death".
