ThyssenKrupp posts 84 percent leap in Q2 profit

The biggest German steel group, ThyssenKrupp, said Friday that its second quarter pre-tax profit leapt by an annualised 84 percent to 352 million euros ($500 million).

The result by ThyssenKrupp, which is in the midst of a broad restructuring programme, was much better than an average analyst forecast of 298 million euros compiled by Dow Jones Newswires.
