INDIANAPOLIS - Los Angeles champion Tommy Haas withdrew Monday from the USD 600,000 RCA Championships citing a hip injury, officials said.

The unseeded Haas, who improved his ranking from 91st to 66th with his finals victory Sunday over fellow German Nicolas Kiefer, was replaced in the draw by South African Rik De Voest.

Haas joined Andre Agassi in pulling out of the hardcourt event due to a hip problem.

The Los Angeles title was the second for Haas this season after winning Houston in April following his recovery from shoulder surgery.

Ecuador's Nicolas Lapenti also withdrew injured Monday.
