Suspect packages seized at German stadium: police
German police said Thursday they had seized three possible explosive packages at a stadium in the west of the country but that they believed there had been "no acute danger to the public."
The Federal Crime Office said that the discovery had been made in "recent days" around the main stadium in the western city of Dortmund following threats from a man they believe was trying to extort money from a German company.
"The investigation of whether the suspect objects were in fact explosives as well as the possible usability of seized chemicals is continuing," it said in a statement.
"Preliminary indications suggest that there was no acute danger to the public."
