Hamburg (dpa) - A woman student who bought an old sofa on a Berlin flea-market found a 400-year-old painting inside by the Venetian school of Carlo Saraceni, an auctioneer said Tuesday.

The painting, Preparation for the Holy Family's Flight into Egypt, was sold at auction for 19,200 euros (27,500 dollars), the Ketterer Kunst company said in Hamburg.

The sofa, picked up for 150 euros, could be folded out to form a bed. That was when the woman found the 26-by-39-centimetre oil painting, which she took to an art expert who dated it to the period 1605-10.
