Stones, paint thrown at Greek consulate in Germany
Germany Friday apologised to Greece after unidentified assailants threw stones and paint at the Greek consulate in Berlin.
Police said a witness saw a group of about 12 masked people in the early hours throw stones and paint at the front of a house housing the consulate in the district of Schoeneberg.
A glass window of a shop on the ground floor of the building was broken, police added.
"I strongly condemn the attack on the Greek consulate," German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said in a statement, adding that he had phoned his Greek counterpart to offer his apologies.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
