Siemens lands multi-million contract in Qatar
German industrial giant Siemens said Wednesday it had landed a contract worth 600 million euros (792 million dollars) to supply electrical power-generating equipment in Qatar.
The firm said it would provide substations and switchgear worth 510 million euros and cabling worth 90 million euros to the General Water and Electricity Corporation, which is in charge of power distribution in Qatar.
Siemens announced in January a 450-million-euro deal to build electrical networks in the gas-rich Gulf state.
