Several people were injured when a bus carrying tourists slammed into a wall on the Spanish resort island of Majorca, a spokesman for the local emergency services said.

The bus was carrying "mostly German but also Spanish, British and Italian" tourists when it "crashed into a wall and flipped over" near the town of Manacor in the east of the island, the spokesman said,

"About 12 people were injured," he said. Most of the injuries were light, but one of them, an Italian, was in serious condition with a fractured collarbone.

It was unclear what caused the accident, the spokesman said.
