Seven foreigners among Love Parade dead: police
Seven foreigners were among the 19 victims of the stampede at Germany's Love Parade techno music festival, a police spokesman said Sunday.
The dead included an Australian woman, an Italian woman, a Dutch man and a Chinese woman, a Bosnian and two people from Spain.
The 19 victims were aged between 20 and 40, authorities said, but they could not confirm the organisers' estimate that 1.4 million people had turned out for the giant free dance party.
More than 340 people were injured.
Police have said that most of victims died immediately at the scene of the disaster, at the entrance to a sole tunnel leading to the festival grounds, but that no one died in the tunnel itself.
In Madrid, a foreign ministry spokeswoman said that the two Spanish victims were university students.
"Their parents have been informed and they are on their way to claim their ... remains," she told AFP.
