Schroeder to spend holiday in Italy- last year's pique forgotten

5 July 2004 , BERLIN - Saying it was time to let bygones be bygones, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder announced plans to spend his summer holiday in Italy. Schroeder and his wife Doris and daughter Klara will stay at the home and studio of artist friend Bruno Bruni on the Adriatic coast for three weeks later this month. Last summer Schroeder cancelled his annual Italian vacation after an Italian official lashed out at German tourists, calling them "loud-mouthed, blond-headed boors".

BERLIN - Saying it was time to let bygones be bygones, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder announced plans to spend his summer holiday in Italy.

Schroeder and his wife Doris and daughter Klara will stay at the home and studio of artist friend Bruno Bruni on the Adriatic coast for three weeks later this month.

Last summer Schroeder cancelled his annual Italian vacation after an Italian official lashed out at German tourists, calling them "loud-mouthed, blond-headed boors".
