BERLIN - German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will have two days of talks with US President George W. Bush in Washington next month, a media report said on Wednesday.

Officials in Berlin would neither confirm nor deny the Stern magazine story which said the two leaders would meet in the White House on 27-28 June.

Following sharp differences over the Iraq war - which Germany strongly opposed - Schroeder was invited to Washington in February 2004 for a fence-mending meeting.

Relations between both leaders further warmed at last year's Group of Eight (G8) summit hosted by Bush at Sea Island, Georgia and in February of this year when the US leader visited the German city of Mainz for talks with Schroeder.
