26 November 2004, RATINGEN - A bank robbery in Germany by two gunmen in Santa Claus costumes ended in a shootout with police that left one man dead and two wounded. The robbers were fleeing with an undetermined amount of money from a bank in the Rhineland town of Ratingen when they were spotted by two plainclothes police officers. In the resulting exchange of gunfire, one of the robbers was shot to death and his accomplice was wounded. One of the officers was also wounded. The wounded men were reported to

RATINGEN - A bank robbery in Germany by two gunmen in Santa Claus costumes ended in a shootout with police that left one man dead and two wounded.

The robbers were fleeing with an undetermined amount of money from a bank in the Rhineland town of Ratingen when they were spotted by two plainclothes police officers.

In the resulting exchange of gunfire, one of the robbers was shot to death and his accomplice was wounded. One of the officers was also wounded.

The wounded men were reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital.
