Russia on Tuesday resumed vegetable imports from the Netherlands and Belgium after imposing an embargo on the 27-nation EU bloc due to Germany's killer E. coli outbreak, a top health official said.

"After an expert assessment, we allowed imports from the Netherlands and Belgium," Russia's consumer protection agency chief Gennady Onishchenko was quoted as saying by the RIA Novosti news agency.
