6 September 2004 , BERLIN - Despite the deadly terrorist attack on a school in southern Russia, President Vladimir Putin plans to come to Germany for a two-day summit with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder later this week, a spokesman said Monday. Schroeder's chief spokesman Bela Anda said the President Putin was still due to attend the meeting which begins Friday in Hamburg and continues in a nearby castle on Saturday. BERLIN - Despite the deadly terrorist attack on a school in southern Russia, President Vladimir Putin plans to come to Germany for a two-day summit with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder later this week, a spokesman said Monday.

Schroeder's chief spokesman Bela Anda said the President Putin was still due to attend the meeting which begins Friday in Hamburg and continues in a nearby castle on Saturday.

Anda said the German government had rushed medicine worth EUR 100,000 to the victims of the attack and that the foreign ministry, the German Red Cross and the German embassy in Moscow were coordinating further aid.

Hospitals in Germany have offered free treatment for those injured in the attack on the school in Beslan which left 338 hostages dead and 447 injured - at least half of them children.
