HAMBURG - German football star Sebastian Deisler indicated Tuesday he might play for Bayern Munich in Saturday's Bundesliga match at Borussia Dortmund, the club he played his last league game against before becoming ill with depression in November.

Deisler, 24, told the Bild daily he would play another match in Munich's third division amateur team on Thursday and that participation on Saturday in Dortmund was "definitely possible".

"Dortmund, that would be something," Deisler said.

It was originally believed that Deisler would not be able to return until the 25 April match with crosstown rivals 1860 Munich.

Deisler last played a Bundesliga match in Munich's 4-1 win against Dortmund on 8 November.

He was then treated for depression in Munich clinic until January and resumed training in February. He played his first game in Munich's amateur team last Thursday, scoring a goal in a 3-1 win over Kickers Offenbach.

Doctors said he was fully cured and could even play at Euro 2004 if he is selected for the 12 June- 4 July finals in Portugal.
