BONN - Many Poles and Czechs believe Germany could one day make claims on former German settled areas in Central and Eastern Europe, a survey found.

The survey, released on the weekend, was drawn up by pollsters Allensbach in conjunction with Germany's Haus der Geschichte (House of History).

It found that 61 per cent of Poles and 38 per cent of Czechs believed that it was likely that Germany would reclaim former German areas and properties in Poland and the Czech Republic or seek compensation.
