BERLIN - Fredi Bobic and Giovane Elber may be reunited as attacking partners as American club New York Merto Stars are after their signatures, Germany's Bild daily reported on Thursday.

Bild said that both players had received an offer, but quoted Metro Stars manager Nick Sakiewicz as saying that his side has not yet talked to their clubs.

The former German international Bobic currently plays at Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin while the Brazilian-born Elber is under contract in the French first division at Olympique Lyon.

In the mid 1990s, Bobic and Elber were attacking partners at VfB Stuttgart where they formed the famous "magic triangle" along with Bulgarian playmaker Krassimir Balakov.
