More than 50 injured in German steam train crash

Berlin -- More than 50 people were injured, four seriously, when two narrow gauge steam trains collided head on in eastern Germany, police said on Sunday.

Seven children under 10 were among the 52 hurt when the two pleasure trains carrying 250 passengers smashed into each other on Saturday afternoon.

Police said they were investigating why the two trains were on the same track. The damage caused was estimated at over one million euros (1.5 million dollars).
