Schnega, Germany (dpa) - A 50-year-old German man, who went missing in June, has turned up none the worse for wear after a 3,000- kilometre solo bicycling trip through Poland, police in the small town of Schnega said Tuesday.

The man, who was not named in the police report, left on his trip in early June without informing his family, who reported him missing.

A helicopter was deployed in the search that was mounted.

Police in Schnega in the state of Lower Saxony said the man had not given any reason for his trip when he reported to them on Monday.

"Perhaps he just needed a break," an officer said.
