Lufthansa names Christoph Franz as its new CEO
The biggest German airline, Lufthansa, said Wednesday it had named deputy chairman Christoph Franz as its new chairman and chief executive officer.
Franz was named "as the successor to Wolfgang Mayrhuber, the current chairman of the executive board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa," a statement said.
"The appointment will be effective from 1 January 2011, for a term until 31 May 2014 in accordance with German stock corporation law," it added.
