Israeli Yiddish theatre launches German tour

6 September 2005, BERLIN - Yiddishpiel, the Yiddish Theatre of Israel, announced the itinerary Tuesday of a seven-city tour of Germany with Bashevis Singer's Holocaust drama "The Last Love" and a light-hearted cabaret spoof.

BERLIN - Yiddishpiel, the Yiddish Theatre of Israel, announced the itinerary Tuesday of a seven-city tour of Germany with Bashevis Singer's Holocaust drama "The Last Love" and a light-hearted cabaret spoof.

The Tel Aviv-based troupe will perform in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and other cities during a two-week tour later this month under auspices of the Central Council of German Jews.

Yiddishpiel was established in 1987 to promote Yiddish in the performing arts. Since its establishment, the Yiddishpiel theatre has staged more than 50 productions and has won awards worldwide.
