Berlin (dpa) - Short films by Italian-born actress Isabella Rossellini are to form part of the opening movies screened at a key section in next year's Berlin Film Festival, organizers announced Tuesday.

The Berlinale's forum section, which celebrates new filmmakers, is to open in February with Rossellini's "Green Porno" as well as Canadian-born Guy Maddin's new film "My Winnipeg," which is a grim but loving homage to his home town.

Rossellini's shorts, which take a look at the insect world has been designed for mobile phones and mobile video players.

Maddin and Rossellini regularly work together on projects, presenting their joint film "My Dad Is 100 Years Old" at the 2006 Berlinale.

The movie paid homage to Rossellini's father Roberto Rossellini, the famed Italian film director.

At last year's Berlinale Forum, Maddin and Rossellini presented a staging of Maddin's Brand Upon the Brain! at one of Berlin's opera houses, the Deutsche Oper.
