Iraq medical cases grow in Germany

23 January 2004 , LANDSTUHL - The tally of US medical evacuations from Iraq to Germany between March and the end of last year was 9,433, according to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center on Friday. The facility, 5 kilometres from the huge Ramstein airbase, is the biggest US military hospital outside U.S. soil. The tally comprises US wounded, those who fell sick and those hurt in accidents such as car crashes or falling off ladders. A spokeswoman said she was unable to say how many were combat casualties.
