MARBURG - People suffering from stress should have their teeth checked more regularly, the German health group Green Cross advises.

The group noted that when people are under stress their anti-immune defences are weakened, in turn making it easier for bacteria to invade the mouth and throat region.

In addition, people under stress tend to brush their teeth less often, paving the way for more cavities and gum ailments, the group warned.
