CHARLEVILLE-MEZIERES - Germany has won the world championship in the boomerang, organisers of the competition announced Sunday.
"Germany took the lead at the start and never looked back," said Benoit Vincent, one of the directors of the tournament.
It is the fourth team boomerang championship for Germany, which finished just ahead of host France.
The tournament consisted of three days of events that included tests of precision boomerang tossing and of the amount of time the competitors can keep a boomerang in the air.
Seventeen countries participated in the bi-annual event, including Japan, Switzerland and Canada. The next world boomerang team championships will be held in Japan in 2006.
