Sarajevo -- Germany will help Bosnia to develop its energy sector and improve environmental standards with financing worth 60 million euros (89 million dollars), the German embassy announced Tuesday.

Under an agreement signed by the two countries, the funding will comprise two loans of 46 and 10 million euros and a grant of 4 million euros from the German state-owned bank KfW.

The funding would be used for the building of Bosnia's first wind farm and improvements in waste supply and waste water disposal network in the northern city of Banja Luka.

Officials from the two countries have also started talks on further financial support that Germany is to provide Bosnia.

Over the past few years Germany has provided over 200 million euros for development of Bosnia's energy sector.
