Germany says will not let Greece fall: report
Germany "will not let Greece fall" and is working to secure financial aid for the troubled eurozone economy, Germany's finance minister said in an interview due to appear on Wednesday.
"We now have to realise and implement the rescue plan... and thus send a clear signal that we will not let Greece fall," Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told the business daily Handelsblatt.
"We are putting on pressure for quick decisions," he said.
Schaeuble said the German government could approve the plan as early as Monday, after which the parliament would discuss it.
Germany could provide debt-wracked Greece with up to 8.4 billion euros (11.1 billion dollars) in loans this year under plans drawn up earlier.
German public opinion is deeply opposed to the bailout.
