Germany: alert and alarmed

5 August 2004 , HAMBURG - Germany has more alarm clocks per capita than any other country in the world, according to a survey conducted by the Swedish furniture chain Ikea. The survey revealed that 97 percent of German households have an alarm clock in the bedroom. Compared to homes in 27 other countries investigated, eight out of ten homes had an alarm clock, according to the poll. The poll also revealed that most Germans on average sleep seven hours and six minutes.
