SYDNEY - A search was underway Tuesday in Australia for a 63-year-old German woman who went missing in a popular national park.

She was part of a tour group visiting Geikie Gorge National Park, 20 kilometres from Fitzroy Crossing in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

The woman got separated from her companions Monday morning on a remote walking trail. The temperature at the time was 45 degrees.

"A good thing we do have in our favour, obviously, is that there is a river in the actual search area," said search coordinator police constable Keith Fay. "So if she can make it there she can drink that water."

Around 25 people are involved in the search, as well as a helicopter.
