German police seize 100 kg of cocaine
German police said Friday they had seized 100 kilogrammes (220 pounds) of cocaine concealed in containers in the northern harbour of Bremerhaven, the narcotics brigade's second largest find ever.
Harald Chybiak, the head of Berlin's drugs squad, told reporters that the cocaine was stashed in containers originating from Panama.
He said some 250 men were involved in the search for the drugs shipment, whose market value was estimated at around five million euros ($7 million) and was the second biggest haul since the squad's creation in 1978.
Three men were subsequently arrested in Bremerhaven and four in Berlin, Chybiak said.
