New car sales plunged by 32 percent last month in Germany, Europe's biggest car market, from the sales level in June 2009, the VDA automobile federation said on Friday.

New car registrations for the whole of this year were now forecast to fall by about 25 percent to 2.8-2.9 million vehicles, owing to the ending of state subsidies for the scrapping of old cars, a VDA statement added.
