German exports drop by 5.9 percent in April on month: data

The value of German exports fell by 5.9 percent in April from their level the previous month, to 74.3 billion euros (88.9 billion dollars), data released on Tuesday by the national statistics office showed.

The trade surplus of Europe's biggest economy and the world's second biggest exporter nonetheless amounted to 13.4 billion euros, the Destatis office said.
